Riley Keough recently opened up about her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and her marriage to Michael Jackson on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. Keough reflected on her childhood, recalling the two years when Jackson was her stepfather, alongside her late brother, Benjamin.

She shared that their lives were already a whirlwind because of their family’s celebrity status. However, marrying Jackson brought new experiences and a taste for luxury into their lives. Riley noted that after witnessing Jackson’s world, her mother felt a desire for things like private planes, marking a shift from her simpler life with Riley’s dad, Danny Keough.
Lisa Marie and Michael Jackson were married in May 1994, soon after her split from Danny. Their relationship was one of notable interest since Lisa was the daughter of Elvis Presley, while Jackson was a pop icon. Unfortunately, their marriage lasted only two years, ending in 1996.
During their marriage, Jackson faced serious allegations that overshadowed their union. Keough explained that as a child, she was unaware of the allegations against Jackson. Her parents shielded her and her brother from tensions at home, creating a protective bubble around them.
In the months following her mother’s passing in January 2023, Riley has been promoting Lisa Marie’s memoir, “From Here to the Great Unknown.” Loosely based on her mother’s audio recordings, the book reflects on Lisa’s life and struggles.
Riley’s insights into her family and experiences truly highlight the complexities of living in the public eye, and how fame can impact family dynamics.
