Join Us: Aspen Company Hosts Heartwarming Food and Clothing Drive to Give Back to the Community

Aspen’s own 4EVERGREEN Landscapes is kicking off a Food and Clothing Drive to support the local community on Saturday, November 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will be held on the east side of Wagner Park.

All food collected will go to LIFT-UP, an organization dedicated to tackling food insecurity, and clothes will be donated to the Defiance Thrift Store in Glenwood Springs.

Broderick Taylor, the founder of 4EVERGREEN and an Aspen High School graduate, is excited about this initiative. He believes in giving back to the valley that he loves.

“My passion for Aspen is strong. It’s my favorite place,” said Taylor. He sees the rising need in the community, especially as food insecurity has surged by 600% since 2020, according to LIFT-UP data.

In light of recent pauses in SNAP benefits, Taylor felt compelled to take action. “This drive is just the beginning. We hope to host many more events in the future to help our neighbors,” he added.

Local efforts like this reflect a broader trend. Recent studies show that community-driven initiatives can significantly help in times of crisis. Engaging with local nonprofits not only provides immediate relief but also strengthens community bonds. So, whether you’re donating or volunteering, your contribution matters.

As you consider your own role in such initiatives, recall that even small efforts can lead to significant changes. Let’s support our community together.
