FRISCO, Texas — Dallas Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens faced some consequences after missing curfew while in Las Vegas. Lamb revealed this to reporters on Thursday, clearing up a rumor that he had been out late and felt unwell.
As a result of missing curfew, both players sat out the first offensive series during the Cowboys’ 33-16 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. In that opening series, the team was unable to gain any yards. Despite not starting, Lamb and Pickens still had strong performances.
The players had been staying at the Durango Casino & Resort but ventured out to the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa, about eight miles away, which led to their late return. Pickens expressed how tough it was to miss the beginning of the game, saying, “Me and CeeDee definitely wanted to be out there.”
Pickens had an impressive game, catching nine of his eleven targets for 144 yards and a touchdown. He showed his physicality by breaking several tackles after making catches. Lamb contributed as well, racking up 66 yards on five catches, including his first touchdown in three games.
Though Lamb usually attends meetings on time, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer joked this season about Pickens not always being punctual. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones described the curfew incident as an “in-house issue” linked to discipline around meeting attendance.
After the game, Pickens hinted at some confusion about strategies on the field, stating, “We kind of thought they were gonna come out in certain stuff, but they didn’t.” He kept the context of his discussions with Schottenheimer private, emphasizing it was just between them.
