Fallout 4’s Latest Update: Addressing Anniversary Edition Criticism and Exciting New Features!

In October, Bethesda revealed the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, marking ten years since the game’s original launch. This updated version aimed to be the ultimate Fallout 4 experience but quickly faced criticism due to bugs and glitches. Now, Bethesda is working on updates for November and December to address these issues.

Recently, the company shared patch notes via social media. While they didn’t directly respond to the backlash, they expressed gratitude for player feedback about their experiences. The development team is focusing on fixing DLC installation problems, occasional crashes, and improving the overall user experience.

One exciting update mentioned is a mod storage expansion for console versions of Fallout 4. However, the developers indicated that it will take extra time before this feature is available. They also hinted that details about the upcoming December patch would be released soon.

In addition, Bethesda promised players several free Fallout 4 Creations. The first one, The Varmint Rifle, will be available next week. Players will need to complete a series of challenges, including solving puzzles and fighting enemies, to earn this unique rifle.

While the exact date for the November patch is still under wraps, the following notes outline the planned fixes:

Crash and Stability Fixes:

  • Resolved crashes when starting new games with Creations on PS4.
  • Addressed crashes when quitting while using Pip-Boy (PS4/PS5).
  • Fixed issues with guest users accessing the Creations menu.
  • Tackled crashes related to loading save data with missing Creations.

Save/Load & Profile Improvements:

  • Now, exit saves are created correctly when returning to the main menu.
  • Eliminated infinite loading when trying to download missing content from a different platform.
  • Fixed softlocks or control loss when switching Xbox profiles.
  • Improved warnings for load order when loading save files with different creations enabled.

User Interface & Experience Enhancements:

  • Increased performance in the Creations menu across all platforms.
  • Resolved softlocking issues when navigating the Creations menu.
  • Loading issues that resulted in infinite hangs have been addressed.
  • Prices in bundles will now update right after individual item purchases.

Localization Updates:

  • The in-game Creations menu will now follow the player’s load order.
  • Users can like or unlike creations in the Load Order menu.
  • Visibility settings for downloaded Creations after deletion from BethesdaNet have been improved.

In a world where gaming glitches can frustrate players, Bethesda’s proactive approach to updates shows their commitment to improving player experience. As Bethesda continues to tackle these issues, it remains to be seen how players will respond to the upcoming changes.
