Loh Kean Yew just scored a big win! He beat the sixth seed, Naraoka Kodai, to move on to the quarter-finals of the BWF India Open 2025 on January 16. Loh won with scores of 21-17 and 21-15, marking his second consecutive match victory. This put him back on track after his first win of the year just a day earlier. Remarkably, this was his sixth win against Naraoka in six encounters.

From the start, Loh showed his dominance. He maintained the lead throughout the first game without much trouble. In the second game, things got a bit tougher. After a tie at 15-all, Loh surged ahead, winning six points in a row to take the match in 46 minutes.
Next, Loh will face a familiar opponent, two-time Olympic gold medalist Viktor Axelsen, who cruised past Jia Heng Jason Teh with a score of 21-11, 21-14.
On the women’s side, An Seyoung was impressive as well. She defeated Ratchanok Intanon with a commanding score of 21-15, 21-8. After a brief lead for Intanon at the start of the second game, An kept control and never looked back. She will take on Jia Min Yeo in the next round.
The BWF World Tour Super 750 event is happening in New Delhi and will continue until Sunday. Fans can catch the action on demand via the Olympic Channel on Olympics.com and through the official Olympics app.
