AI is already making waves in many industries, and education is no exception. Schools are increasingly using AI-powered tools to enhance teaching and improve operations. However, to fully harness AI’s potential, schools need to connect their current systems with these new technologies. At Microsoft, we’re here to support schools with Copilot and agents.

AI agents take things a step further. They allow for customization and can work alongside educators. For instance, agents can specialize in areas like lesson planning or responding to individual student needs. By using school data, they can provide valuable insights to teachers and administrators.

Our mission is to empower every student and educator to reach their full potential. We’re committed to providing secure and trustworthy AI solutions that schools can confidently adopt.

At the upcoming Bett UK event on January 22-24, 2025, we will showcase Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, including new AI features for the Copilot+ PC.

With Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, educators and students can access AI tools right inside their chat sessions. Here are some features of Copilot Chat:

  • Free, secure AI chat powered by GPT-4o.
  • Agents available within the chat.
  • IT controls for data protection and agent management.

Copilot Chat offers an easy-to-use chat experience, built on the latest AI models for safety and security. Moving forward, institutions will enjoy a blend of Copilot Chat and Microsoft 365 Copilot, enhancing their educational tools.

Many schools, like Auburn University and the Northern Ireland Education Authority, are already experiencing the benefits of Microsoft 365 Copilot. They are saving time and improving learning outcomes through these AI solutions.

At institutions like Florida State University, faculty and students are exploring various use cases. These range from providing course information to enhancing data science learning. Faculty are encouraged to craft their own AI solutions to better suit their classrooms.

“Our goal at FSU is to empower faculty to develop their own custom AI solutions. Copilot Chat will make that opportunity real and meaningful for everyone.”

Soon, more teaching and learning agents will become available. These agents will engage students with personalized questions and assist educators with instructional design based on proven teaching methods.

We’re also working with partners like Clever to create agents that help educators design customized lesson plans using existing resources.

Furthermore, we will be offering open-source agents that allow interaction with course materials in popular learning management systems like Canvas and Moodle.

Our research continues to show that AI can significantly enhance student learning, provided it works in harmony with educators.

Copilot+ PCs are the fastest and most secure Windows PCs we’ve created. Our newest app, Project Spark, will help educators quickly craft tailored learning activities. This interactive tool will engage students directly.

Students can use their Copilot+ PC or any Windows 11 PC to access these activities and get personalized feedback, boosting their learning experience.

We’re excited that Khanmigo for Teachers is expanding its reach. Over 400,000 educators across more than 50 countries have already benefited from its tools, and further launches in Spanish-speaking countries are set to happen soon.

Additionally, we’re introducing the Khanmigo Writing Coach, which guides students through the essay writing process while providing teachers with valuable insights into their students’ writing journeys.

Lastly, our new Learning Accelerators, like Reading Coach and Math Progress, aim to enhance student engagement and improve their skills in reading and math. Both tools are now available in over 80 languages.

Minecraft Education is also joining the effort by offering a new pathway for student credentialing in AI skills. This includes a free Lesson Crafter tool, enabling educators to build engaging lessons that incorporate AI learning.

Schools play an essential role in fostering AI literacy among students. Yet many teachers feel unprepared to teach these skills. That’s why we’ve created a hub with resources and free training courses to support educators in their AI journey.

We look forward to continuing our mission of enhancing education through innovative AI solutions.
