The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) recently announced a partnership with Aramark Correctional Services to improve food services in its 27 facilities. This transition will start in December 2023 and is expected to finish by March 2026.

The Alabama program includes 28 internships and scholarships, helping inmates prepare for jobs after release. Aramark has a solid track record, having successfully implemented similar transitions in states like Arizona and Ohio. Improvements under this partnership will involve upgrading kitchen equipment and expanding retail options for inmates.
