Bitonio shared his motivation: “I’ve been doing this for most of my career, and it’s a great opportunity to help the food bank. Many people are struggling with hunger, and every bit of help makes a difference.” His words reflect a growing concern about food insecurity, an issue that affects many families today.
According to Karen Pozna, the Director of Communications at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, over 500 families received assistance at this event alone. The food bank aims to support more than 400,000 people throughout 2025, matching last year’s impact. This highlights the ongoing need for community support, especially as economic challenges persist.
“We want everyone in need to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with their family,” said Pozna, expressing gratitude for the Browns’ support. Their involvement not only raises awareness but also strengthens community ties.
This year, Sugardale made a significant contribution, donating over 7,182 pounds of ham, bacon, hot dogs, and pepperoni. This marks the third consecutive year of partnership between Sugardale and the Browns for this initiative. Additionally, the Browns contributed $10,000 to provide turkey for families in need.
Rob Hite, Sugardale’s Vice President of Marketing, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “We are proud to be part of Thanksgiving at the Food Bank and grateful for the opportunity to help families access nutritious meals.” Their support is vital in combating food insecurity, which has wide-reaching implications for health and well-being in the community.
In recent years, surveys have shown that food insecurity rates have increased, affecting more households than ever before. A 2022 report indicated that over 35 million people in the U.S. experience hunger, highlighting the critical role that organizations like the Greater Cleveland Food Bank play in addressing this issue.
