OAKLAND, Calif. – A new food hall is on its way to West Oakland! Prescott Market is set to open soon, and locals are buzzing with excitement as community leaders aim to breathe new life into this vibrant area.

Prescott Market will span 12,000 square feet at the corner of 18th and Peralta Streets. The market will showcase eight food and drink vendors. Notable names include Almanac Brewery, High Wire Coffee, Pizzeria Violetta, Fast Times Burgers, Woo Can Cook, and Prescott Meats & Deli. There’s still room for two more businesses, so if you love community-focused cuisine, this could be the place for you.

Joe Ernst, the founder of Prescott Market, shared that their vision is to create a space for local entrepreneurs. “We want partners who are passionate about community and eager to help West Oakland thrive,” he explained.

Interestingly, most of the vendors are from Oakland, with many having participated in the Prescott Night Market, which started in 2024. This night market quickly gained popularity among baseball fans heading to games at the newly revamped Raimondi Park. Plus, the neighborhood is already home to a lively farmers market every Sunday, showcasing local produce and goods.

“In West Oakland, there’s a strong sense of pride and investment in the community,” Ernst added. This area, known for being one of the first settlements in the East Bay, has long been a melting pot of cultures.

Prescott Market aims not just to provide food but also to restore nearby historic buildings, turning them back into thrilling gathering spots with great food, drinks, and entertainment. The hope is to fill a gap in local retail and culinary offerings, making this corner of Oakland even more inviting.
