It feels like a blend of old tropes, like class struggles and rags-to-riches stories, which just feel tired now. The film plays on classic themes, including the loving father who becomes an enemy. Nagshekar has a knack for tragedy, and this film also leans on heavy emotional moments, but it feels forced this time.
One of the key plot points is Geetha’s struggle with silicosis, a lung disease that doesn’t seem to fit her character’s lifestyle. The film suggests mechanizing silk weaving to protect the workers. This idea seems strange because it goes against keeping traditional weaving alive. It raises questions about how much research went into these health issues.
To make matters worse, Geetha is also said to be battling Alzheimer’s, doubling her struggles. The film tries to show her journey but seems to get lost in unnecessary medical details. There’s a moment where Sanju feels optimistic about a lung transplant, but the film glosses over important medical facts, leaving viewers confused. It’s puzzling how the story skips over such a crucial aspect, creating a disconnect between the narrative and reality.
On top of a faint story, the performances of Rachita and Srinagara seem flat. They don’t bring much depth to their roles, especially during key moments that should have been powerful. The presence of other actors like Sampath and Rangayana Raghu fails to lift the film either. Their roles feel minor and underdeveloped, with some characters seemingly inserted without purpose. Rachita’s lack of emotion in dramatic scenes makes it hard to connect with her character and the story.
Overall, Sanju Weds Geetha 2 left me questioning how such films get made. It feels like a missed chance for interesting storytelling. Perhaps if actors chose more critically, we’d see more engaging films. In its current state, this movie is just a forgettable experience.
