COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Minnesota men’s hockey team showcased an impressive game against Ohio State, winning 6-3 at Value City Arena. Brody Lamb shone brightly with a three-point performance, while teammates Beckett Hendrickson and Brodie Ziemer contributed two points each. Goalkeeper Luca Di Pasquo made 32 saves, helping secure the win.
The Golden Gophers (8-9-1 overall, 4-3-0 B1G) had ten players on the scoresheet, while Ohio State (5-10-0 overall, 1-6-0 B1G) struggled to find their rhythm. After a tied first half, Lamb scored the game-winner in the third period, and Ziemer followed up with an empty-net goal, closing out the game.
The first period was slow, with both teams unable to score. Minnesota had opportunities, including a power play, but couldn’t convert. Di Pasquo kept things even with multiple key saves. The second period picked up the pace significantly, starting with an unfortunate bounce for Minnesota that let Ohio State take an early lead. However, the Gophers quickly struck back during a power play, with Ziemer tying things up.
From there, Minnesota surged ahead. Lamb assisted Teddy Townsend for the go-ahead goal after a brief review confirmed its legality. The Gophers took a 3-1 lead but saw Ohio State find the net before the second period ended, making it 3-2.
In the third period, Ohio State tied the game 3-3 just minutes in. But Minnesota responded swiftly. Lamb darted past defenders and scored again, regaining the lead. The Gophers held firm on defense while capitalizing on empty-net chances late in the game.
