World of Warcraft just released its new housing feature for players who pre-ordered the Midnight expansion. There’s a lot of buzz around creating unique homes, but many players, especially those in the Horde faction, are facing one big issue: the exteriors of their houses aren’t exactly pretty.
If you play an orc, you might appreciate the usual orc style—think spikes and rough metal. But for many, the overall design feels too rugged. The Alliance faction gets a more neutral option: cozy cottages that most players find easy on the eyes. Right now, Horde players have limited choices, either living in a makeshift shack or that same cottage design. Blizzard has said that they will add more options, like Night Elf and Blood Elf styles, but those aren’t available yet.
Despite the limitations, players are creative. Some are decorating their yards to distract from the drab exteriors. One player even turned their house into a cave, while another crafted a style that feels more like a Blood Elf’s home. There’s a vibrant community online, especially on Reddit, where players share their designs and ideas.
However, there’s a catch. Each player has a limit on how many decorations they can place outside. If you go all out with big decorations, you might not have enough left for smaller, fun items. Many are asking Blizzard to raise this limit. It’s a common complaint, but players understand that this feature is still in development.
This housing feature feels a lot like early access for a new game. Players know things will improve. As they experiment with the tools, it’s entertaining to see their creativity shine through, even with the current restrictions. Just think how amazing the homes will be once players can unleash their full imagination!
The Midnight expansion officially launches on March 2, 2026. If you’re all about getting in on the housing experience early, you’ll need to pre-order your copy.
