ServiceNow Eyes Billion Acquisition of Armis: What This Means for the Future of Tech

Armis, an Israeli cybersecurity company, is in talks to be acquired by ServiceNow, potentially for around $7 billion. This news comes after Armis recently raised $435 million, boosting its valuation to $6.1 billion. The company had been planning to go public next year, and an announcement about the acquisition could happen soon.

Led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, the recent funding round saw participation from CapitalG and new investor Evolution Equity Partners. Founded in 2016 by Yevgeny Dibrov and Nadir Izrael, Armis focuses on securing critical infrastructure and providing organizations with real-time visibility and protection in their digital environments.

Dibrov recently shared that Armis aims to reach $1 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within three years. He mentioned that their strong sales and customer relationships are crucial for this goal. “We have crossed the $300 million mark, and investment offers are consistently coming our way,” he noted.

He underscores the value of their partnership with Goldman Sachs, emphasizing that it sends a strong signal to the market as Armis prepares for a public offering. “There were more than seven offers on the table, but we truly connected with Goldman’s team,” he added.

Interestingly, companies like Armis are catching the eye of larger firms amidst a growing demand for robust cybersecurity solutions. A report from Cybersecurity Ventures projects global spending on cybersecurity to reach $1 trillion from 2021 to 2025, highlighting the industry’s rapid growth. The recent surge in cyber attacks has intensified interest in companies that can safeguard digital assets effectively.

Armis’s competitive edge includes its ability to adapt and grow quickly—evidenced by their acquisition of Silk Security, which dramatically increased that product line’s sales from $600,000 to $40 million. Dibrov expressed confidence in competing against established names like Rapid7 and Tenable.

As cybersecurity becomes a top priority for businesses, Armis is positioning itself as a key player. Their journey reflects a broader trend where innovative companies are reshaping the cybersecurity landscape, attracting significant investment, and setting ambitious growth targets.
