Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat Express: Indian Railways is rolling out a new Vande Bharat Express train between Narasapur and Chennai. The train starts running commercially on December 15 from Narasapur and from Chennai two days later on December 17. This service aims to shorten travel times and enhance connectivity between the two cities.
The Narasapur to Chennai route is an extension of the existing train number 20677/20678 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express. The journey covers 655 km in about 8 hours and 55 minutes.
This semi-high-speed train will stop at seven stations: Renigunta Junction, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali Junction, Vijayawada Junction, Gudivada Junction, and Bhimavaram Town.
Here’s the travel schedule: Train number 20677 departs Chennai at 5:30 AM and reaches Narasapur at 2:10 PM. The return train, 20678, leaves Narasapur at 2:50 PM and arrives in Chennai at 11:45 PM.
As for ticket prices, an AC Chair Car costs ₹1,635, while an Executive Chair Car ticket costs ₹3,030. This pricing reflects the growing trend in rail travel in India that is shifting toward more efficient and comfortable options.
