Discover Scoochie Pet’s Reduced MOQs for Private-Label Dog & Cat Food: More Choices for Pet Lovers!

Scoochie Pet is shaking up the pet food market by offering lower minimum order quantities (MOQs) for private-label canned and dry dog and cat foods. This change helps small and mid-sized retailers compete with large online stores and big-box retailers.

The company produces unlabeled cans and personalizes them with retailer-specific labels in their warehouses in Savannah, Georgia, and Huntington, New York. Gary Jacobs, president of Scoochie Pet, shared, “Many independent retailers couldn’t afford the big upfront costs to start their own pet-food line. We’ve removed that barrier, allowing even smaller shops to stock private-label pet food more affordably.”

Private-label pet food is becoming increasingly popular. According to a report from Business Research Insights, this segment was valued at $49.5 billion in 2025 and is expected to skyrocket to $126.4 billion by 2035. Surging consumer trust is a major factor behind this growth. In 2024, private-label pet products saw a 5.8% year-over-year increase in dollar sales, while branded products showed weaker growth across various categories, as noted by the Petfood Industry.

In Europe, private-label pet food holds about 34% of the market’s value share, a significant shift highlighting that pet owners are often more willing to trust these products when they prioritize quality, price, and transparency over established brands.

What does all this mean? As smaller retailers embrace private-label options, they’re able to offer diverse, affordable products to pet owners. This trend may reshape the landscape of the pet food industry, ushering in a new stage of competition where tailored offerings meet rising consumer expectations.

Scoochie Pet continues to lead in this area, providing a range of products from wet canned food to dental chews. For more detailed insights, manufacturers can look into this Business Research Insights report.
