Discover the Stunning New Folder Animation and UI Enhancements in Google Pixel’s Latest Update!

Today, Android 16 QPR3 debuted for Google Pixel devices, offering exciting updates to enhance user experience. One of the standout features is a fresh animation for app folders. Previously, when you tapped a folder, it would simply expand. Now, it uses a “Hitchcock zoom” effect, making the folder pop while the background shrinks, giving it a dynamic feel. This change significantly improves the aesthetic compared to earlier versions.

Alongside the new folder animation, there have been adjustments to the theme icon feature. The option for themed icons has been rearranged to align with icon shape selections. Users can now easily switch between “default” and “minimal” icons in the same section as wallpaper customization.

However, the amount of icon shapes remains the same, with five options available. It’s worth noting that these shapes do not apply to the app drawer yet, which has left some users wanting more. The reaction on social media has been mixed; many appreciate the new animation, while others express disappointment over the limited icon options.

In terms of updates, Google regularly listens to user feedback and improves its software. With 68% of users wanting more personalization options according to a recent survey by TechCrunch, this might push Google to adapt further in future updates.

Android 16 QPR3 is currently rolling out to devices in the beta program. As Google continues to evolve its operating system, enhancements like these showcase its commitment to refining the user experience on Pixel devices.
