Sharky’s opened in December 2021, delighting Vacaville with specialties like hush puppies, frog legs, and catfish nuggets. Tayeh’s love for soul food stems from his grandmother, who served delicious Southern meals from her garage in Decatur, Alabama. “That’s where I learned the art of Southern cooking,” he recalls. “I’ve modernized a few recipes over the years.”

Before Sharky’s, Tayeh honed his skills at the California Culinary Academy and worked at JJ’s Fish and Chicken, eventually helping to open multiple franchises. After 13 years there, he decided to pursue his dream of owning a restaurant.

Now, four years in, Tayeh is proud of his success. “It’s been a blessing,” he says. “Managing fresh products isn’t always easy, but with two locations and a food truck, we keep things moving.”
