Christian Ellsworth is back in Manhattan, taking on the role of quarterbacks coach at Kansas State, as announced by head coach Collin Klein. With deep roots in the Midwest, Ellsworth returns after two seasons at Texas A&M, where he first served as a senior offensive analyst and then as the tight ends coach. He has also worked at South Carolina and Nebraska.
Ellsworth is excited to be home, stating, “My family and I are humbled and excited to be back in Manhattan. It’s an honor to serve this program, university, and community.” His connection to Klein goes back to when he worked as a graduate assistant at K-State from 2020 to 2021.
Klein praises Ellsworth, calling him “a rising star” in coaching and highlighting his strong work ethic and character. During his time at Texas A&M, Ellsworth’s coaching led to impressive statistics. His tight ends in one season contributed 43 receptions for 435 yards, helping the Aggies achieve significant rushing averages. In 2024, Texas A&M had its best SEC start in program history, finishing strong in offensive rankings.
Before his coaching career, Ellsworth was a standout quarterback at Northern Iowa. He set multiple state records in Nebraska, demonstrating his talent early on. He graduated from Northern Iowa in 2019 and earned a master’s degree from Kansas State in 2022.
