“In what might look like chaos to an outsider, it was really just a team,” Zito said, emphasizing teamwork.
He also saw how the Brewers handled high-pressure situations, especially during the 1982 World Series when they faced the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7.
“Like our team, they stayed calm under stress. Everyone kept their cool,” Zito noted.
Zito learned the importance of details in professional sports. Everything should be neat and well-stocked. After playing in the rain, players need clean uniforms quickly.
“It may seem trivial, but it’s crucial,” he explained.
Preparation is key. Sometimes, unexpected challenges arise—like losing star players to injuries. Zito referenced the current season’s injuries to Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk. His experiences in Milwaukee prepared him and his team to adapt.
