Included Health has introduced Dot, a new AI assistant that enhances its healthcare platform. This tool offers personalized support while keeping human clinicians closely involved. Over the past year, Included Health has fine-tuned Dot with large U.S. employers, processing over 10 billion AI tokens.
Dot taps into individual member data, such as medical records, claims, and social factors. This allows it to give tailored guidance across various health needs, whether they are clinical, financial, or administrative.
Nupur Srivastava, the Chief Operating Officer at Included Health, emphasized that Dot is not just another chatbot. “Unlike mass-market chatbots that offer generic advice, Dot draws from personal data to provide specific guidance,” she explained.
Additionally, Chief Health Officer Dr. Ami Parekh highlighted Dot’s role in shaping the future of healthcare. “Dot is part of a team that’s focusing on building trust and creating new opportunities for better healthcare,” he said.
Looking ahead, Included Health plans to use Dot for preventive screenings, enhancing the use of benefits, and managing care plans. This aims not only to improve patient outcomes but also to reduce costs for employers and health plans.
Research suggests that AI in healthcare can significantly improve patient engagement and efficiency. A report from Accenture indicates that by 2026, AI applications in healthcare could generate over $150 billion in savings annually.
As technology evolves, tools like Dot may redefine how we access and manage our health, blending digital convenience with human care.
