A fog advisory is in effect for much of southern Saskatchewan. Environment and Climate Change Canada warns that foggy conditions could make travel risky throughout the afternoon.
Areas like Regina, Moose Jaw, and Swift Current have dense fog as of noon. Meteorologist Dave Carlen explains that the fog can create tiny water droplets on road surfaces. When these droplets freeze, roads become slick even without much snowfall.
As of 10:30 a.m., road conditions across the province vary, with some areas dry and others snow-covered or icy. The fog is mainly affecting the Trans Canada Highway and regions south to the international border.
Carlen urges drivers to slow down, turn on their headlights, and adapt to the conditions. “Take it easy. Make yourself visible to other traffic and allow extra time to get where you’re going,” he advises.

Snowfall Insights
Overnight, snow fell in parts of Saskatchewan but in varying amounts. Saskatoon received only one to two centimeters, while regions from Prince Albert to Yorkton saw more, around five to seven centimeters.
Looking ahead, Carlen warns the fog might return in coming days. Temperatures are expected to stay around seasonal averages. A few weak weather systems may pass through, bringing light snow, but no significant storms are on the horizon.
