Samsung has just unveiled its latest portable projector, the Freestyle+, ahead of CES 2026. This model is a significant step up from its predecessor, the 2022 Freestyle, boasting nearly double the brightness. While the old model offered 230 ISO lumens, the new one shines at 430 ISO lumens. While the Freestyle+ has a familiar look, it’s designed for easy setup with a rotation range of 160 degrees. A new feature is Q-Symphony compatibility, allowing you to pair the projector with compatible Samsung soundbars for enhanced audio. One exciting addition is Vision AI. This technology brings voice control into play with Samsung’s Bixby. A quick voice command lets you adjust settings without fumbling for a remote. This feature really highlights how far projectors have come—making use of smart tech to enhance user experience.
The Freestyle+ also introduces AI OptiScreen, which optimizes projections for various wall types and colors, ensuring the picture remains clear. The projector uses innovative keystone correction and focus adjustments to improve image quality, even on non-flat surfaces. The 3D Auto Keystone feature is particularly impressive, automatically correcting distortions when projecting onto uneven surfaces like walls or curtains. Another noteworthy feature is Screen Fit, which calibrates the image to match your projection screen size. The projector can display images up to 100 inches in 1080p. However, it’s worth pointing out that the Freestyle+ still requires a power source, whether from a wall outlet or a power bank. So, calling it “portable” might be a stretch for some.
Samsung typically announces pricing and exact release dates post-CES excitement, but we can expect the Freestyle+ to hit the market in the first half of 2026. The previous model was priced around $900, and early feedback suggests this new version is versatile and compact.
