A low-pressure system is predicted to pass just south of Nova Scotia, bringing a mix of rain and snow to the region. Expect the precipitation to begin as rain before turning to snow later in the evening. Environment Canada has advised that there might even be some freezing rain during this transition.
Jay Scotland, a meteorologist for CBC P.E.I., noted that western areas are likely to receive wet snow, while the eastern part will mainly see rain. The central region may experience a messy combination of both.
Wet and melting snow could make roads slick, leading to a troublesome commute. “Wednesday night’s drop in temperature means untreated roads might turn icy, with some fresh snow falling too,” Scotland added.
