Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was recently arrested in Lakewood, Ohio, for allegedly carrying concealed weapons. He was stopped around 6:14 PM on Clifton Boulevard, and after being booked at the Lakewood jail, he was released pending an investigation. No charges have yet been filed.
Lattimore’s attorney, Marcus Sidoti, stated that he cooperated with the police during the stop, which reportedly occurred due to expired license plates. The Commanders are aware of the situation and are gathering more information but have no further comment for now.
At 29, Lattimore is a hometown hero, born in Glenville, Ohio, which is just a short drive from Lakewood. He was a first-round pick in 2017 from Ohio State and spent seven seasons with the New Orleans Saints before being traded to the Commanders in November 2024.
Due to a hamstring injury, Lattimore’s time on the field has been limited. He made his debut with Washington in a Week 15 victory over the Saints this past season, but his 2025 campaign ended early after suffering an ACL injury in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.
This incident complicates his future with the Commanders. The team brought him on board in hopes of making a playoff push, but after a disappointing 2025 season, Lattimore might find himself on the roster’s chopping block.
Historically, Lattimore has faced legal issues before. In March 2021, he was arrested in Cleveland for a concealed weapons charge, where he pleaded not guilty and received a suspended sentence that included probation. This event shows a pattern that may raise concerns for the team moving forward.
