The Browns are set to interview Aden Durde, the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinator, for their head coach position. This marks Durde as the fourth candidate in this search. Durde, 46, has made a strong impact in his two years with Seattle. Under his leadership, the Seahawks’ defense showed remarkable improvements. In his first season, the team ranked fifth in points allowed per game and fourth in yards. The defense continued to shine in his second year, allowing the sixth-fewest total yards at 285.6 per game and the fewest points per game at 17.2.
Before joining the Seahawks, Durde coached the defensive line for the Dallas Cowboys from 2021-2023. His work led to impressive stats, including 23 sacks in his first season and a contributing 44 sacks in the following year. These achievements highlight his ability to develop strong defensive units.
His coaching journey began with the Atlanta Falcons, where he worked in various roles from an intern in 2016 to the outside linebackers coach by 2020. Additionally, Durde played linebacker in NFL Europe, contributing to teams like the Scottish Claymores and the Hamburg Sea Devils, even celebrating a championship in 2007.

According to a 2022 study, only 30% of head coaches in the league were people of color, prompting calls for change.
