Prophet Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is set to dedicate the Burley Idaho Temple on January 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. MST. He will be joined by his wife, Kristen, and other church leaders.
Before the dedication, people could tour the temple during an open house that ran for more than two weeks, ending on November 22, 2025. This event allowed the community to see the sacred space.
The Burley Idaho Temple, announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April 2021, will be the 11th temple in Idaho, which has a thriving community of over 480,000 Latter-day Saints in roughly 1,275 congregations. It stands on a 10.1-acre site and covers about 45,300 square feet. Construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony on June 4, 2022.
Idaho is home to several other temples, including those in Boise, Caldwell, and Idaho Falls. The growing number of temples reflects the state’s vibrant faith community and increasing membership.
Temples play a significant role in the Church, serving as places of worship and spiritual gathering. They are seen as vital for the community’s faith and continuity.
