Indian Railways is poised to unveil its first Vande Bharat sleeper train this week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag it off on January 17, running between Howrah and Kamakhya, near Guwahati.

During test runs, the Vande Bharat sleeper hit speeds of 180 km/h. While it’s designed for speeds up to 160 km/h during regular service, some trial runs have shown its capability to exceed that.
