COLLEGE PARK, MD – The University of Maryland baseball team kicked off their practice for the 2026 season on January 12. The Terps will start their season with a three-game series at UNC Wilmington from February 13 to 15.
After that, they are set to host Georgetown for their first home game on February 17. Last season, the Terps faced Georgetown three times, winning the first game but losing the subsequent two.
Maryland is bringing back several important players, including Brayden Martin and Aden Hill, who had over 55 starts last season. They are also welcoming new transfers, like Antonio Morales from Wake Forest and Ryan Costello from LSU, which adds depth to the team.
Head coach Matt Swope has lined up a promising freshman class for 2026. This group made Baseball America’s Top 25 Recruiting Classes list. Notable recruits include Maryland natives Ty Kaunas and Austin Weiss.
In addition, fans looking forward to the season can soon expect single-game ticket announcements. For those eager to catch multiple home games, the Maryland Athletics Pride Pass is available for $59. This pass covers all regular-season home contests for various sports, including baseball and lacrosse.
Baseball continues to be a vital part of campus life at Maryland, not just for players, but for fans too. With the team’s strong recruitment and returning players, there’s much to anticipate this season.
