Many famous individuals, such as Michael Caine and Elvis Presley, have ties to this culture. In the U.S., around one million Gypsies, often referred to as Romani people, reside, alongside thousands of Irish Travelers concentrated in areas like Murphy Village, South Carolina.
Charlotte-Ann pointed out a primary distinction: Romani Gypsies trace their roots back to India, while Irish Travelers come from Ireland. Both groups speak different languages, which reflect their unique histories.
