Elishah “Eli” J. Veach, just 18 years old, passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2026, due to an aneurysm at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on August 13, 2007, he was the cherished son of James and Marcy Veach from Hopewell, PA.
Eli is survived by his sister Abigail, who is married to Cody Frantz, along with nephews Branston and Colson Frantz. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend Shelvia, his maternal grandmother Anne Haynal, several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his best friend, Ben. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul “Jim” and Elaine Veach, and Robert “Bob” Haynal.
A member of Hopewell Grace Church, Eli expressed his faith through baptism in the summer of 2025. He graduated from Northern Bedford County High School in the Class of 2025 and was studying to become a heavy equipment operator, recently obtaining his CDL. Eli had a passion for the outdoors, often fishing and pheasant hunting with his dad and their Beagle, Callie. He also enjoyed collecting World War II memorabilia.
Known for his cowboy shirts, boots, and hat, Eli dreamed of moving to Wyoming after finishing his studies. His interests included rodeos, trains, and tractor pulls. He was even taking flying lessons after passing his pilot written exam.
Eli had an adventurous spirit, aiming to visit all 50 states before turning 20. He accomplished 46 of them, leaving a legacy of joy and curiosity. People were drawn to his infectious enthusiasm and vast knowledge on many topics.
Friends and family can pay their respects on January 16, 2026, at Akers Funeral Home in Everett from 4-9 PM, and again on January 17, 2026, at 10 AM before the funeral service at 11 AM, led by Pastor Mark Lingenfelter.
In a world where youth is often fleeting, Eli’s thirst for knowledge and life was exceptional. He reminds us of the importance of cherishing our passions and connecting with those around us.
