Mother Love

The Weekend Theater in Little Rock is presenting “How Black Mothers Say I Love You” by Trey Anthony. The story follows Michelle, a mother who moved from Jamaica to America to build a better life for her daughters. Now, after 30 years, she faces a health crisis, leaning on her church and her devoted daughter. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. from January 31 to February 1 and at 2:30 p.m. on February 2. Vivaldi by Candlelight

The Listeso String Quartet will perform “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by Candlelight” at the Albert Pike Masonic Center at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The program features all four of Vivaldi’s violin concertos along with pieces by composers like Massenet and Piazzolla. The concert is suitable for ages 8 and up. Ticket prices range from $29 to $53. Touring Percussionists

The Sympatico Percussion Group, featuring five talented musicians, will showcase a mix of rudimental drumming and original compositions at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. Metropolitan District Competition

On Saturday, nearly 30 singers from across the nation will compete in the Metropolitan Opera Arkansas District Laffont Competition at 1 p.m. in the same concert hall. A-State Exhibitions

Three new exhibitions will open with a reception at the Bradbury Art Museum on Thursday, starting with an artist talk at 4 p.m. Highlights include:

Black Futures Deadline
