The highly anticipated SEC women’s basketball game between No. 5 LSU and No. 2 South Carolina has been moved from Thursday to Friday. The original venue was Columbia, S.C., but heavy snowfall around Baton Rouge made travel too risky. LSU hopes to depart on Thursday for the game, and their home match against Texas A&M on Sunday is still a go.

LSU has also announced that its campus will stay closed on Thursday, advising students to avoid traveling as the city deals with the aftermath of the storm.

LSU stands strong with a 20-0 record and holds second place in the SEC with a conference record of 5-0. South Carolina, the reigning national champion, leads the SEC at 6-0 and has an overall record of 18-1.

An NBA game between the Bucks and Pelicans originally set for Wednesday has also been postponed. Many roads in New Orleans are covered in ice and snow, making it tough to get around. A new date for the game will be announced later. The Bucks had flown in early to dodge the storm but were unable to practice or shoot around due to the weather conditions.

There is uncertainty about whether the Bucks can return to Milwaukee in time for their game against the Miami Heat scheduled for Thursday evening. As of now, the game is still on, and fans can catch it on TNT as part of the NBA’s Rivalry Week.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans may also face challenges getting to their upcoming games in Memphis and Charlotte. They plan to leave on Thursday, depending on the weather.

The Sun Belt Conference is also making changes due to “hazardous travel conditions.” Two men’s basketball games initially set for Wednesday have been moved to Thursday, including Georgia Southern vs. Coastal Carolina and Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Texas State. Additionally, two games planned for Thursday have been postponed to Monday.
