Indian Railways has launched the new Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express! Ticket bookings for the train (train number 27575) started recently. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged it off on January 17 from Malda Town railway station.
This sleeper train will start its commercial run on January 23 for the Howrah-Kamakhya route and on January 22 for the return trip (train number 27576). The train will operate daily except on Thursdays for the Howrah-Kamakhya route and Wednesdays for the reverse trip.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will stop at 13 stations, including Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, and New Jalpaiguri. This is great news for travelers looking to explore Assam and West Bengal.
As for the schedule, the Howrah-Kamakhya train will leave Howrah at 18:20 and arrive in Kamakhya at 08:20 the next morning. The return train departs Kamakhya at 18:15 and gets to Howrah by 08:15 the following day. The journey will take around 14 hours.
Ticket prices vary by destination. For example, prices from Howrah to Kamakhya range from ₹2,435 to ₹3,855, depending on the class you choose. This pricing makes it accessible for a wider range of travelers.
