Arkansas Tech University’s MBA Program Achieves Record Spring Enrollment: What This Means for Future Students

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Arkansas Tech University (ATU) is experiencing record growth this spring. A total of 74 students are enrolled, seeing an impressive 51% rise from last year. This trend marks the first time in five years that spring enrollment has surpassed the previous fall.

Since its launch in 2017, the ATU MBA program has steadily built its reputation. Dr. Peng “Roc” Huang, a finance professor and director of the MBA program, notes that one significant reason for this increase is the accelerated bachelor to master (AB2M) program. This initiative encourages students to transition directly from their bachelor’s to their MBA, creating a solid pipeline. The BSBA+MBA program has become a popular choice, with 69 students currently enrolled.

Dr. Huang highlights several factors contributing to this growth: the fully online format, affordability, and strong faculty support. This approach not only makes it easier for students to pursue their degrees from home but also attracts a diverse student body. ATU MBA graduates now work in various industries including retail, healthcare, and finance, securing positions at major companies like Walmart and Tyson Foods.

The program also offers specializations in business data analytics and digital marketing. Recently, U.S. News & World Report ranked ATU’s online MBA as the top program in Arkansas. This recognition helps strengthen the university’s reputation and brings in students from different states and backgrounds. ATU has further supported this growth by offering in-state tuition to all graduate students, regardless of their home state.

Tracy Cole, dean of the ATU College of Business and Economic Development, points out that many MBA students are also ATU alumni. They continue their education here because they’ve had positive experiences with dedicated faculty and vibrant campus life. With a solid support network, these students find compelling reasons to return for their graduate studies.

Overall, the ATU MBA program is not just growing; it’s thriving. With its focus on accessibility and student success, it stands out as a leading option for future business leaders.
