Today, we got a fresh look at Alex in Street Fighter 6. He’s changed a lot from previous games, and there are exciting new features to explore. Capcom shared details about his moves that promise to make him stand out among the roster.
First up is the **Flash Axe**. This new strike special is performed with a quarter-circle forward and light punch. It’s a great way to end a combo safely or transition into Alex’s new **Prowler Stance** with medium punch. Speaking of Prowler Stance, this special can lead to 11 different follow-up options, increasing Alex’s versatility in combat.
Next is the **Flash Chop**, now only available with heavy punch. When it hits, it spins the opponent around, leaving a chance for a follow-up like the **Power Bomb**. This move is now plus on block, and its Overdrive version can also ferry Alex into Prowler Stance.
The **Aerial Knee Smash** returns too. The light and medium versions act as strong anti-airs, while the heavy version can hit standing opponents and cause a hard knockdown.
When it comes to his **Power Bomb**, Alex has options. Each version does the same damage but varies in speed and range. The light grab has more reach but is slower, making it a strategic choice in combat. This time, when the opponent’s back is turned, Alex can launch into a **Power Drop** after a Power Bomb, adding a layer of surprise.
One standout move is Alex’s **Raging Spear**, his level 1 Super Art. This forward tackle starts with invincibility against strikes and throws, making it a solid choice in tight spots. His **Sledgecross Hammer**, a level 2 Super Art, can launch airborne foes into walls, while the **Omega Wing Buster**, another level 2, pays homage to wrestling star Kenny Omega—who actually performed the motion capture for this move.
Interestingly, community reactions have been mixed on social media. Fans express excitement but also apprehension about Alex’s new mechanics. Some consider the depth of Prowler Stance both intriguing and daunting, highlighting the game’s balance between complexity and accessibility.
According to a recent survey by GameSpot, 65% of players believe character variety enhances gameplay, suggesting that Alex’s unique abilities might attract a wide audience. As we draw closer to Alex’s release on March 17, it will be interesting to see how he fits into the game’s dynamic.
