Important Notice: University Closure on January 26, 2026 – What You Need to Know

Due to a winter storm, Rider University will be closed on Monday, January 26. Classes are canceled, and only essential staff should report to work. Those employees will receive updates from their supervisors.

The spring semester will now start on Tuesday, January 27, with remote classes on that day. Normal class schedules will resume on Wednesday, January 28. Employees are encouraged to work from home on Tuesday unless they are part of the essential staff.

Move-In Details:
Students should plan to move into their residence halls on Tuesday, January 27, between noon and 7 p.m. If this isn’t possible, students can also move in on Saturday, January 24, from noon to 7 p.m. Keep an eye on your Rider email for more details about the move-in process.

Dining Updates:
Dining services will operate on a modified schedule over the weekend:

  • Daly Dining Hall: Open Saturday, January 24, through Monday, January 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Wendy’s: Open on Saturday, January 24, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The Market: Open Saturday, January 24, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Starbucks: Open Saturday, January 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All dining locations will return to regular hours on Tuesday, January 27.
