Washington, D.C. (Jan. 24, 2026)—The Morgan State Lady Bears faced off against Howard University but suffered a 71-57 loss at Burr Gymnasium. Kailyn Nash led the Bears with 15 points, while Mihjae Hayes contributed 11. Despite a good start, Morgan fell to 3-19 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Howard improved to 15-7 and 5-1 in the conference.
Howard’s Zoe Stewart also scored 15 points and had four steals, helping her team secure its seventh consecutive victory over Morgan. Zennia Thomas and Nile Miller both had double-doubles, underscoring Howard’s strong performance.
The game was competitive, with ten lead changes and nine ties. Morgan led 15-10 after the first quarter and 31-29 at halftime. However, Howard came back strong in the second half, outscoring the Bears 42-26.
