The upcoming U.N. climate talks in Antalya, Türkiye, are generating excitement. Scheduled from November 9 to 20, 2026, this event, COP31, aims to tackle pressing climate issues while boosting Antalya’s tourism.
Last year, Antalya hosted 17.12 million foreign tourists, making it a bustling hub for international events. This year is expected to be just as busy, with three major conferences lined up, enhancing the city’s appeal. Alongside COP31, Antalya will also host the “5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum” and the “77th International Astronautical Congress.”
Kaan Kaşif Kavaloğlu, president of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB), views hosting COP31 as a strategic move for Türkiye. He pointed out that the event would draw numerous international leaders and experts, putting the city on a global stage. Kavaloğlu’s experience at previous conferences shows how vital these gatherings are for shaping climate policies.
The congress will focus on key issues such as sustainability, greenhouse gas targets, and effective environmental policy.
