Oregon Ducks Excel in Preseason Rankings
Oregon’s acrobatics and tumbling team kicks off the season at No. 2 in the 2026 National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) preseason coaches’ poll. This exciting announcement came from NCATA on Friday.
Last season, the Ducks shined by winning three event finals and finishing as national runners-up. They are among four teams to receive first-place votes, alongside Baylor, Quinnipiac, and one unranked team. Under coach Taylor Susnara, Oregon has consistently ranked high, never dipping below fifth since she took charge in 2021.
Most of Oregon’s opponents this year are ranked in the top 15, which adds extra excitement to the schedule. They’ll host powerhouse teams like No. 3 Quinnipiac and No. 4 Iona, and will also compete against No. 1 Baylor at home and on the road.
Oregon’s season kicks off on February 8 at Missouri State, with the home opener against Quinnipiac scheduled for February 21.
According to recent data from the NCATA, the competition has only intensified. In the last couple of years, participation in acrobatics and tumbling has grown by approximately 25%, indicating rising interest in the sport.
Also noteworthy is the increasing awareness of mental health in athletics. Coaches are now emphasizing athlete well-being alongside physical training, which could lead to stronger performances during competitions.
