Evansville, Ind. — Austin Peay State University’s women’s tennis team had an impressive match against Southern Indiana, winning decisively with a score of 7-0.
In singles play, several players delivered strong performances. Sophia Baranov won her match against Antonia Ferrarini with identical sets of 6-4. Yi-Ching Huang followed suit, defeating Rylie Wilkison 6-2, 6-4. Luca Bohlen showcased her resilience in a three-set battle, finishing 10-6 in a tiebreaker. Clemence Butavand and Pauline Bruns also had solid wins, both triumphing with scores of 6-1, while Elena Thiel swept past Lily Meyer, winning 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles, the team continued their dominance. Bohlen and Huang defeated Sophia Davidoff and Antonia Ferrarini 6-1. Bruins and Thiel secured a 4-2 win over Krnjic and Wilkison, and Baranov and Butavand finished strong against Negrail and Claire Meyer, winning 6-0.
Next up, the Governors will face Murray State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
