Matthew Neill Null is an accomplished writer with several prestigious awards under his belt, including the Joseph Brodsky Rome Prize and the Mary McCarthy Prize. His works appear in notable publications like The Kenyon Review and Electric Literature.
Originally from West Virginia, Matthew earned his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He also received recognition through notable fellowships, including one at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. His debut novel, Honey from the Lion, was shortlisted for the L.D. and LaVerne Harrell Clark Fiction Prize, and his collection, Allegheny Front, was named a finalist for Foreword’s INDIE collection of the year.
Matthew currently teaches Creative Writing at Susquehanna University. His upcoming novel, Floodgate, is set to be released in May 2026.
