Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos are making a comeback in the “Chicago P.D.” universe. They’ll appear in a special three-part crossover with “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med,” airing on March 4 on NBC.
Spiridakos returns as Hailey Upton, now a Special Agent with the FBI. She’s back in Chicago to work with her former “P.D.” team. Her mission comes after a case from her Detroit office leads her home. Soffer’s character, Jay Halstead, is also engaged in the same drug enforcement case, having gone deep undercover.
Soffer last graced our screens in October 2022, while Spiridakos last appeared in May 2024. Halstead left to tackle cartel issues in Bolivia, and Upton decided to start fresh elsewhere. Both actors have expressed interest in returning, and this upcoming crossover marks their first time back in their original roles.
Soffer shared, “It’s like he’s somewhere else, doing what he’s best at. I love playing Halstead, and that won’t change.” His insight reflects the strong connection actors often develop with their roles, and fan anticipation is running high.
The crossover will kick off with “Chicago Fire,” followed by “Chicago Med,” and conclude with “Chicago P.D.” The storyline involves a passenger jet going dark mid-air, leading to a dangerous mystery that impacts more than just the flight.
In recent seasons, “One Chicago” has captivated viewers and shown how interconnected the lives of first responders can be. With this highly anticipated event, fans can expect thrilling drama and high stakes.
