Konami has made an exciting move by releasing the Super Bomberman Collection for the Switch and Switch 2. This collection features seven games, reviving a beloved classic for both new and longtime fans.
Players will find Super Bomberman 1 through 5 in this collection, including the original Famicom versions of Bomberman 1 and 2. A fresh Boss Rush mode adds to the fun, and you can enjoy multiplayer via GameShare.
As with many modern game collections, you’ll also get access to artwork and music from the series through the main menu. Here are the key features:
- All versions of Super Bomberman 1-5 included
- Super Bomberman 4 & 5 available in English for the first time
- Famicom versions of Bomberman 1 & 2
- New Boss Rush Mode
- Local multiplayer options
- GameShare and GameChat support (Switch 2 only)
- Quality of life improvements, like save states and rewind features
- Gallery Mode and Music Player
- Virtual unboxing experience
The digital edition is available now, but if you prefer a physical copy, it will release on August 25, 2026, in the US, and August 28, 2026, in the UK. For Switch enthusiasts, there’s a collector’s edition priced at €69.99. The Switch 2 will offer a deluxe edition for €49.99, which includes additional goodies like an exclusive sleeve and even a stress ball.
The physical version for Switch 2 will be a full game cart, meaning no downloads are required—nice!
In recent years, the gaming community has embraced nostalgia, with collections like these seeing increased popularity. According to a 2022 survey by the Entertainment Software Association, 54% of gamers enjoy revisiting older titles. This trend shows how many players appreciate the blend of classic gameplay with new enhancements.
Overall, this shadow drop from Konami is a welcome surprise. Players are eager to relive the Bomberman experience, whether they dive in digitally now or wait for the physical release.
