IRVINE, CALIF. – The Golden Eagles faced a tough opponent in Dominguez Hills, opening their season with a high-energy game. Despite a loss (CUI – 7, CSUDH – 11), there were bright spots. Early in the first inning, the Golden Eagles struck first. A standout moment came from Isaiah Walz, who hit a triple, driving in two runs. This set the tone, giving them a temporary lead of 5-3.
Wyatt Madison also shone, collecting three hits and driving in two runs. His performance highlighted the reliability of the team’s batting lineup, which combined for 14 hits during the game.
In the second game of the day, the Golden Eagles faced another challenge (CUI – 1, CSUDH – 7). Although the offense was quieter, Walz’s solo home run in the fourth inning was a reminder of the power within the team. The Golden Eagles’ pitchers fought hard, mixing strikeouts with smart pitch sequences, which minimized the damage in key moments.

Looking forward, the Golden Eagles will host Chaminade next Friday and Saturday for their first conference series. The games will take place on Friday at 2 PM and 5:30 PM, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 PM and 4:30 PM.
