FAIRBANKS – The Nanooks men’s basketball team is now 11-11 overall and 6-7 in the GNAC after an 89-81 victory against the Central Washington Wildcats on Saturday.

The game kicked off with Tyriq Luke sinking a three-pointer at the 18:42 mark. Mike Miller quickly followed with another three, pushing the Nanooks to an 8-2 lead. A layup from Luke Fotheringham put Alaska ahead by ten points in no time. Despite a strong start, the Wildcats fought back, going on a 10-0 run that narrowed the gap to just one point.
The teams exchanged leads multiple times as the first half progressed. By halftime, the Nanooks pulled ahead to 44-41, thanks to late baskets from Jalai O’Keith and Luke.
The second half started strong for Alaska with Crilly and Fotheringham scoring quickly. However, the Wildcats struck back with a 14-2 run, flipping the score to 65-61 in their favor. The Nanooks regained the lead shortly after, trading baskets until O’Keith hit a crucial three-pointer with just over a minute left, sealing the game.
