Charlie Woods, the highly regarded high school golfer and son of PGA legend Tiger Woods, recently announced his college choice. He will be joining Florida State University as part of the class of 2027. Charlie was instrumental in securing a state championship for The Benjamin School, where he played a key role in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 1A championship in 2023.
In the 2024 season, his team finished third while trying to defend their title. During his junior year, Charlie contributed significantly, helping the Buccaneers clinch their second state title in three years. He shot an impressive final round of 4-under-par 68 at Mission Inn Resort, leading to a five-shot victory over Orlando The First Academy. He ended the tournament tied for fourth overall with an impressive 2-under-par score.
Charlie entered the spotlight at just 11 years old when he participated in the PNC Championship in 2020, becoming the youngest competitor ever. That year, he and his father secured second place against John Daly and his son.
Currently, Charlie competes in various high school tournaments across Florida as well as junior events sanctioned by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). He recently won the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025, finishing with a round of 66. This performance earned him first-team honors as an AJGA Rolex Junior All-American and solidified his spot among the top 10 in the AJGA standings.
