Costco Brings Back Coke to Food Courts: What This Beverage Swap Means for Shoppers!

Big news from Costco! Starting this summer, their food courts will switch back to Coca-Cola products. This change comes after years of serving Pepsi drinks. Costco’s President and CEO, Ron Vachris, confirmed this during the recent annual shareholder meeting.

Vachris answered a question about the food court’s switch by saying, “Yes, that is accurate. We will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola.” Expect to see Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke, and Sprite at the fountains instead of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Starry.

The news follows reports from sites like Costco Insider and discussions in online forums hinting at this change. CNN also highlighted that Costco’s deal with Coca-Cola includes cups, straws, and other supplies in addition to the soda syrup.

Costco first made the switch to Pepsi back in 2013, after serving Coca-Cola products for many years. This shift was a big deal for the company. At that time, a Costco executive mentioned that while there might be pushback from customers who preferred Coke, the decision was made to help maintain popular deals like the famous hot dog and soda combo for just $1.50.

Speaking of that combo, Costco has reassured customers that it will stay at the same price despite rising costs. The company managed to sell a staggering 229 million hot dog and soda combos last year, showing just how popular this deal remains.

Costco has a reputation for providing great value. The hot dog and soda deal is often compared to similar items at ballparks, which can cost much more. As Costco’s founder Jim Sinegal once said, this deal means a lot to customers who love the affordability and quality.

With this exciting switch back to Coca-Cola, Costco looks to enhance its food court experience this summer. Fans of Coke products can look forward to enjoying their favorites again while still grabbing that great deal on hot dogs!
