The gameplay centers around a unique device called the CRTV, which the protagonist, Simon Ordell, uses to uncover the town’s dark secrets. This retro-inspired gadget resembles a Game Boy but combines both audio and video. It plays a crucial role in solving puzzles and uncovering the eerie story that Silent Hill is known for.
In Townfall, players explore the environment from a first-person perspective. The CRTV helps Simon pick up signals that guide him and aids in puzzle-solving. Screen Burn promises “tactile and intricate” challenges that will keep players engaged. As players navigate, they will face threats that actively hunt them.
