In this new take, Hobie is now a Baywatch Captain, following in the footsteps of his father, Mitch. His life gets turned upside down when Charlie, a daughter he never knew he had, arrives. She wants to join him in the lifeguard world, continuing the family legacy.
Producer Matt Nix is excited about Amell’s casting. He believes Amell brings the heart and energy needed for this reboot. “He can sprint into danger, handle the emotional load, and still keep things fun,” Nix said.

Fox has committed to a 12-episode order for the new series, which will feature thrilling rescues, complex relationships, and the challenges of beachside life. Filming will begin this spring at Venice Beach and the Fox Studio Lot.
