FRANKLIN, Tenn. — A tragic plane crash outside Denver has claimed the lives of four people, including Nashville residents Aaron Stokes and Austin Huskey.
According to preliminary reports from the FAA, the crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. near Emerald Mountain. The Routt County Sheriff confirmed that all four individuals were found dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as Stokes (47), his son Jakson (21), nephew Colin (21), and Huskey (37).
Stokes, a resident of Franklin, was the founder of EuroFix, a car repair company, and Shop Fix Academy, which helps other auto shop owners grow their businesses. His journey into the car repair world began after a personal crisis—he got stranded without money following a car crash, which pushed him to learn about auto repairs. This experience sparked his passion for fixing cars and led him to start EuroFix in 1999 from a small garage. Over the years, he expanded to five locations across Middle Tennessee, a testament to his hard work and resilience.
Despite early challenges, including a near-collapse of his business, Stokes transformed those obstacles into opportunities, eventually mentoring other shop owners. Reflecting on his journey, he once said, “I started this business with $50 in tools and an idea.”
Huskey was equally influential as the CEO of Huskey Building Supply, a family-run business servicing Middle Tennessee. Under his leadership, the company grew significantly. He was recognized as one of LBM Journal’s “40 Under 40” in 2025, highlighting his impact in the building supply industry.
Since the news of their passing, tributes have poured in. Friends and colleagues remember Stokes as a loving father and impactful leader. Thomas Andrews, a coach at Shop Fix Academy, expressed his sorrow on social media: “The world is quieter because of it.” Austin Huskey was fondly remembered by Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury for his generosity and kindness, emphasizing the lasting impact he made in his community.
